Google Glass (My Opinion)

Yep the "QQ" has started.
Reason i say this is because some don't seem to fully understand what people wan't to do nowadays. Mostly to record and share life moments or to live stream a event regardless if the event host is streaming it or not and this opens up a new kind of streaming and that will be PoV (Point of View).
While i do understand the criticism on the fact that they can be used in a wrong way to spy on people, they can also be used to protect your self from many legal technicalities of removing in most states the "he said she said" that will not hold up in court.

For example: lets say you get stopped for going 60mph at the posted speed limit but a law enforcement officer wants to pull you over for supposedly going 65+ because he or she just wants to. Do you have any proof to beat this ticket? not really.
Now with Google Glass with PoV. You have more than likely glanced down at your dashboard and wondering why you're being pulled over and 9 out of 10 times you will always check your speed. So now you would have this recorded. Guess what? You can beat that ticket!

"What if they tell me to take off the glasses?" You don't have to in most states because the public walkway & road is public view (hence why news stations can film almost anywhere on location) and the officer is being recorded by his own audio and by his dashboard camera. Just with PoV, you won't have to go through the hassle of getting a subpoena and then "supposedly the tape went missing" and all that headache because you have your own copy of the event in question.

Also you have to consider the fact that when you challenge anything in court, its you vs law enforcement officer statement and 9 out of 10 times a judge will learn towards following the statement for a accurate detail of the events in question. So from a legal stand point in my opinion, Google Glass is and can be a great protection tool for you. This would also follow what if you're home and get a break in and you have to defend your self in a life or death moment?

I'm sure you get it by now.

Now the criticism is what effect would these have if they were in the possession of a peeping tom or even worse, a child predator. We all can understand how that will turn out and how it will effect the consumer opinion about Google Glass being on the market. If it is a real concern, Google can sell it online only and have you check in to a agreement to authorize a background check to ensure its not being sent to a registered offender in states that do have a list of them. While this would slow down sales but in the long run it would save Google from being placed under the public scrutiny and any legal backlash from it.

If such events should befall Google, then where would the law draw the line? Everybody pretty much has a phone that can record. Almost everyone has those mini cameras that takes photos and can do recording as well. Is it going to get to the point we can't have something as nice as Google Glass?
While the current tag when it comes out will be set to 1.5k, it will eventually become cheaper (maybe 800ish range?) So some more people will eventually be able to own them.

As for Casino's & Movie Theaters. I can understand the casino privacy  in that regard but I'm not allowed to record the moment I hit the big jackpot? It seems silly and perhaps casino's can set a section where PoV recording is allowed while you're at lets say, a slot machine.

Understandable for Movie Theaters to not want these sneaked in but guess what, they will be. So the bottom line is they will have to set up where WiFi Signals can't get in or go out anywhere in the theater where like hospitals have this set up the same way as well so the signals don't mess with their "sensitive equipment".

As for public places like malls, parks, beach's, etc. At the beach & parks most are just recording their child first time type of deal. I don't see why this would draw any concern but it is. The Mall is a toss up. I personally never seen anybody doing any personal recording at a mall. I've seen people take pictures and that's about it.

So the bottom line or TL;DR. Critics need to stop jumping the gun and wait till the product comes out before jumping on the band wagon of pretty much saying "oh its the spawn of Satan!"

Where has common sense gone?
